- De Oxfordshire Yeomanry (Queen’s Own Oxfordshire Hussars) was een territoriale cavalerie-eenheid. Dit kort historisch overzicht gaat feitelijk tot 1914 en 1915, toen de 1/1st Oxfordshire Yeomanry bij de 2nd Cavalry Division deelnam aan de Eerste en Tweede Slag bij Ieper. Daarvoor leest men onder meer over de inzet van de eenheid in de oorlogen tegen Napoleon en de Boerenoorlog, hoewel dit strikt gezien een eenheid was voor inzet in het Verenigd Koninkrijk zelf. Zeldzaam en gezocht !
